The 1811 was formerly known as Lutter & Wegner and run by the genius master of bourgeois Austrian cuisine, MICHAEL EILHOFF – while the new owner & head chef of the 1811 is focussing more on creative elevations.

And yes, he’s a genius as well, but in another direction. The young waiter is one of the best I ever experienced: a natural born host, service person with authentic friendliness, very attentive and competent!

A funny moment: in the utterly delicious pork belly starter I had to search the pork pieces with my reading glasses …Later a at my neighbor table the guy was welcomed by the kitchen like a very good old friend. Nice. But as it looked as he got a very big portion pork belly starter (surely not my portion?) – I became somewhat envious, until I thought „maybe I just need new reading glasses”!
