In the old French Noir Movies about crime & love – I was especially fascinated by the mouthwatering and almost erotic culinary scenes: when Jean Gabin & Alain Delon late night celebrated un Grand Rouge and some Poulet Rôti – I really wanted to be the third person at their kitchen table.

Whenever we drove the 25 kilometers from SAINT TROPEZ to the AUBERGE DE LA MÔLE, I felt like being in an old and romantic French movie. The Auberge is partly closed in winter – but a wonderful excursion in summer: you’re sitting on the charming terrasse vis a vis the little church of this quiet village and are waiting for the courses to come. But be careful: if you enjoy the Pâte and the Omelette too much, you may feel way to heavy after the main courses. But their very special Vieille Prune may help to reorganize your stomach a bit.

In high season sometimes a VIP group from Paris lands at the tiny but beautiful airport of La Môle (called Saint Tropez Airport) and walks the few hundred meters directly to the Auberge for an opulent & lavish late night dinner … L‘AUBERGE DE LA MÔLE IS an excursion not just in the surroundings of Saint Tropez – but in a different time & world as well.
