Is it unfair that we’re a bit disappointed when the ambience of a restaurant is promising more than the kitchen can fulfill? The GRAND CAFÉ SAINT GERMAIN is enthroned with a proud name on a very romantic & charming Paris-like place in Charlottenburg: am Savigny Platz, so to say, The Place du Savigny’. Last summer I had a few lovely sundowners under the trees in front of the Grand Café – champaign in Saint Germain … Everything here is so Parisian – only I would wish the cuisine to be a bit more committed and delightful. It’s not bad – just not on a par with the wonderful ambience in my opinion. But eventually you‘ll see me next summer under the trees …
