I’m always trying to find new wonderful restaurants – nothing else matters to me. Mostly I start with the menu and then the text & pics on the website … and then I give it a try.
The NUOVA ITALIA opened 6 months ago in a part of Berlin Mitte which really needs good restaurants and as far as I know it’s very busy during lunch time and at least not empty on eves.
My first impression at the Nuova Italia was, that it was rather nicely decorated with Italian elements than built and designed from the scratch on to become an Italian place. Since I’m a hopeless romantic, for me the lights have been way to bright – but I know that’s the way most Italians like it. The welcome and service during the evening was okay – no complaints, but I would have wished to see more passion! Maybe my fault.
The CARPACCIO di MANZO came ice ice cold, so I really missed the probably good taste. Then my TAGLIOLINI AMATRICIANA were excellent and my main, SALTIMBOCCA ALLA ROMANA, tasted good – as the SORBETO AL LIMONE did.
On the wine side I hesitated between an ANTINORI or a BRUNELLO – but expected more help from the waiter. All in all a good Italian – but for me it could develop more PASSION & PERFECTION in the future please.
