Eleven Surprises
1.Even though PAMELA isn’t literally a member of a chain, but a part of a larger restaurant group named Big Squadra – I was expecting them to scale efficiency towards lower costs as almost all chains I know.
But I experienced the opposite: they intensively scale their business for the best quality possible. Wow. The only other group I experienced that way, was and is STICKS’N’SUSHI .
2.My first impression at arrival: a world-class interior design like Rome meets NYC”!
They must have spent a big budget for it.
3. The next surprise I almost couldn’t believe: in these days of chronic staff shortages PAMELA has an ‚army’ of waiters! Another big budget surprise.
4. But that made me skeptical again: so many Service People can’t be all high class waiters. Impossible. Wrong again. I watched and watched and just saw first class service. It slowly dawned on me: they’ ve the highest ambition in all dimensions!
5. MELONE & PROSCIUTTO SAN DANIELE: one of my best ever.
6. BURRATINA AL PESTO: smooth & delicious.
7. FRESH MEZZI RIGATONI ALLA NORMA: can’t believe it: raising the bar!
8. SALTIMBOCCA ALLA ROMANA: raising the bar again !
9. SPIEDINO DI POLLO AL LIMONE: very light, fresh & a bit greek. I liked it.
(It requires a great deal of self-confidence to serve a greek dish in an Italian place.)
10. And finally I became very jealous looking at the eye candy PIZZA at the neighbours table …
„Now: STOP IT! STOP THIS ! A cascade of applause?
Is this a payed promo?”
„Nope, not at all!”
„But any negatives?”
“Yes, the ultra long stairway to the restrooms is a real challenge.”
11. Do you want to come back?”
„Asap – but often as a lonely diner at the GORGEOUS BAR …
